As an Equine Chiropractic Therapist I feel a responsibility to assist others in finding appropriate saddles to fit their equine partners. There is a movement beginning towards a more natural approach to training and riding, which I am very excited about.

A lot more emphasis is being put on the horse's comfort now as well as the riders. There are now numerous treeless systems out there, I personally prefer the Barefoot saddles for many reasons....including affordability, flexibility, allowance for proper muscle development and natural movement, increased positive communication and connection, and most important.....COMFORT! for you and your horse.

These saddles will help you become a more centered, balanced rider and will allow you to be more in tune with your horse and achieve increased responsiveness with subtle aids and cues.

Contrary to some of the other models on the market the Barefoot system does include one hard piece which is the fork/pommel. This is required to protect the exposed thoracic vertebra of the withers. They are added for the protection of the horse, not support for the rider. Therefore, I would not recommend them for any use where there may be substantial force applied to the horn or pommel.

These forks or pommels can be easily swapped out for alternate sizes, so your days of buying multiple saddles for multiple horses are finally over!
Barefoot saddles are one of the healthiest communication tools around. The treeless saddle systems just make sense....
